To participate in a Youth Ambassadors, Youth Innovators or Global Professionals program, please take the following steps to apply:

Determine your eligibility and suitability: |
| |
|
Make sure you meet all the following eligibility criteria
- You must be at least 18 years of age.
- You must be an American or Canadian citizen, or landed immigrant to Canada or the United States. YCI welcomes international applicants, however, these will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
- Capable in English, both verbal and written.
- Physically able to meet the demands of living and working in the field.
You must also be:
- Motivated, flexible and committed to working alongside young people, partners, YCI staff and communities.
- Willing to live and work within a team environment and live in basic conditions.
- Available to commit to the entire duration of a YCI project
- Able to fundraise and/or contribute to YCI's Global Youth Development Programs

Note: We accept applications year-round for Youth Ambassador programs—you can apply anytime! For Youth Innovator and Global Professional opportunities, please note that applications will only be accepted in response to specific job postings. For these programs, please follow any special directions indicated within the posting. |

Participate in a telephone interview: |

Once you have applied, we will contact you within one to two days to book a phone interview. It is important that you confirm your interview time and availability, as well as submit a copy of your resume and references prior to the interview. |

Start preparing: |
| |
|
Successful applicants will be notified by telephone and by email within one week of their interview. Once you have been selected, it's time to start preparing! A member of our Volunteer Programs Team will be in contact with you to provide you with the resources needed to get you started on paperwork, research and fundraising. |
