This month we would like to highlight a couple organizations that are working to educate, organize and involve people in issues of Food Security in Canada and abroad: World Food Program The WFP is an UN agency dedicated to using food to meet emergency needs and to foster economic and social development. Visit the website. They have developed an online game called Food Force to highlight what is takees to ensure food security worldwide. Check out the game! Canadian Association of Food Banks Food Security is a concern in Canada as much as it is overseas. CAFB provides a national forum for Canadians to find resources and get involved to ensure every Canadian will have food to eat. Make sure to check out their national listing of food banks to find the one nearest you. |
